OUR FAMILY HISTORY

The origin of Corrigan & Company, Inc. and its NT Plastics Division can be traced back to New York City in the 1940s. Mr. Eugene P. Corrigan, Sr., took the challenge of Aurther Morris to open a sales office in New York City for Newth Morris Box Company. By 1950, he was second in command and living in Jacksonville, Florida. On his own, he built and started a folding carton plant and the business grew very quickly. So quickly, in fact, the pressure and demands of managing three carton plants plus his other corporate responsibilities took its toll. In the 1950s he became seriously ill and made the decision to retire from manufacturing. When back on his feet he opened a brokerage firm that sold several different types of packaging materials, including folding cartons.

Over the years, the company grew, experiencing highs and lows. It was passed down through generations, and in the ‘70s, Mike Corrigan took the helm, buying out Eugene Corrigan. Eventually, Corrigan & Company negotiated the purchase of the pressure forming packaging section from a Trend Manufacturing of America, Inc... On July 1, 1980, NT Plastics, formerly Nu-Trend Plastics, was born as a division of Corrigan & Company and the third generation of the family was introduced into the company by Michael Corrigan, Jr joining the ranks. Michael was instrumental in overseeing the construction and opening of NT Plastics' new facility on the site where it still exists today. Over his 37 years with NT Plastics Michael has served in many rolls starting at Vice President and now CEO. Ten years later Kelly C. Wood, sister of Michael Corrigan, Jr, joined the company and currently serves as its President. NT Plastics' rich tradition of family involvement continues with the addition of the fourth generation Kelly’s son, Ian Wood, who oversees production and distribution.

OUR PROCESS

With over 40 years of experience, you can trust that we will design, create, execute your plastic packaging project with impeccable attention to detail, on time, and within budget.

DESIGN

NT Plastics uses the method of Thermoforming to create our custom designed plastic packaging products. Thermoforming is a manufacturing process where a plastic sheet is heated to a pliable forming temperature, formed to a specific shape in a mold, and trimmed to create a usable product.

Every project at NT Plastics is completely custom tailored to the client’s needs. Whether you want a specific style or want to develop a unique prototype, NT Plastics can handle both.

CREATION

The next step is to create the mold using aluminum. Depending on the size and complexity of the materials in your project, we may be able to combine several individual parts into a single mold, reducing tooling costs, material costs and production times. Our goal is to minimize waste and maximize profits for your company.

EXECUTION

The next step is to form and trim the plastic to the specifications of your mold. The plastic sheet is heated, then shaped using air pressure. Products are then stacked and packaged with care, ready to ship to your company anywhere in the world.
